Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Powertrain Training Setup -IES-EV-309

The Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Powertrain Training Setup is a live hardware test bench for training, demonstration and research on integrated internal-combustion-engine + electric-motor powertrains. The system demonstrates parallel, series and plug-in hybrid topologies and enables hands-on study of energy flow, power split, regenerative braking and power management strategies in a controlled laboratory environment.
The assembly comprises a single-cylinder petrol engine (100–125 cc, EFI) mechanically coupled to a permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) / BLDC electric motor and a hybrid powertrain MCU (controller) with CAN communication. Transmission coupling is via belt drive or direct coupling to a common shaft to permit different hybrid configurations and generator operation (motor acting as generator during braking). A dedicated Li-ion battery pack (48 V or 60 V options, 30–40 Ah) with BMS supplies and buffers electric energy.
